Helping others has been a driving force behind everything in Jeff Merritt’s life. The idea of service was indelibly etched in Jeff’s mind at a very young age and has continued to be a motivation in his life’s work to this day.
Jeff’s work-life has been devoted to service in his community. After completing a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees, Jeff served as a Social Worker for Catholic Social Services in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he worked in the abuse and neglect system and as also an Alternative Education teacher before joining 616 REALTY.
“My strong desire to be of assistance to others goes back to my Catholic school upbringing in South Bend, Indiana where community service was an integral part of my youth.” The desire to serve others has always been Jeff’s primary motivation as a realtor.
When Jeff is not working you will probably find him on the soccer field where he has coached and done individual training for 33 years. As a coach and athlete Jeff has received numerous awards. And in his work, he has often been recognized for his high level of dedication and competence. At home, Jeff loves to cook and entertain, or simply sit back and watch his beloved Michigan State Spartans.
Jeff is married, has five girls, seven grandchildren. He currently resides in Caledonia, Michigan. He has been active as a Special Olympics volunteer, and in the Buddy Up Tennis Program through the United States Tennis Association.
