Is the Legal Hotline still offered as a benefit of membership?

Yes, the Legal Hotline is still available, however, there have been some changes recently. The Hotline was previously operated by the law firm of McClelland & Anderson and Bernardo (Bernie) Ballesteros was the attorney who staffed the Hotline. In light of Gail Anderson’s pending retirement, Michigan REALTORS® has made the decision to bring the Hotline in-house and it hired Bernie to continue operating the service. With this change, the hours of operation have been extended. The Hotline is now available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 (Noon) and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. The phone number has not changed though. It is 1-800-522-2820. There is no cost to call the Legal Hotline as it is subsidized by the state membership dues – at a cost of only $3 per year per member.
